Hi! I’m Anya.
I’m the KinderGym Head Coach at Skylark Sports and the mother of three children. In the last seven years, each of my children have participated in Skylark programs, including KinderGym, Gym and Ninja classes. Currently, my 11-year-old Matti is part of the State Acro Squad and loves it.
When I was child, I was a rhythmic gymnast, and my favourite apparatus was ball and hoop. I remember my mum used to make leotards out of singlets, but they didn’t have any sequins or crystals. Rhythmic gymnastics is still one of my favourite sports to watch!
At university, I studied law for two years before moving to Australia. I continued my education at Monash, completing a business management and tourism degree. I spent many years working at university before I decided to become a stay-at-home mum.
Raising my children saw me participate in many early childhood activities. I ran a playgroup, helped at the toy library, and was involved in the kinder committee for a number of years. I then decided to become a teacher and started my Masters in Primary Teaching. Just before my last semester, I applied to be a KinderGym coach at Skylark. I loved it so much I couldn’t leave my KinderGym children to go on the last placement and so my fate was sealed.
I love continually learning more about early childhood movement and development to enhance the KinderGym program. There is no greater enjoyment than seeing children grow in confidence and learn to love movement.
