BUILDING SKILLS FOR SPORT AND LIFE
Why Skylark Sports Exists
Skylark Sports was founded on a belief that movement can shape far more than physical skills. Through positive experiences in gymnastics, ninja, tumbling and acrobatics, children develop confidence, coordination, resilience and a lifelong connection to movement.
The foundations of Skylark Sports were shaped by a background in gymnastics, exercise science and research into children’s physical activity and long-term participation in sport. That thinking continues to influence the way programs are designed today — with a focus on helping children feel capable, supported and successful as they learn new skills.
What began as a small local gymnastics program has grown into a thriving multi-site community with fully equipped facilities in Mount Waverley and Lynbrook, supported by a passionate team of more than 50 coaches and administrators.
At Skylark Sports, children are encouraged to challenge themselves, take healthy risks and discover what they’re capable of in safe, inclusive and engaging environments.
Our Mission
At Skylark we teach confidence through movement

When children learn to try again, persist through challenge and trust themselves, confidence grows. At Skylark Sports, movement is how we help children build that confidence for life.
OUR VALUES ARE IMPORTANT TO US AND TO YOU
Our Values
1
Safety Comes First
Children learn best when they feel safe, supported and confident to try. We prioritise long-term health and wellbeing in every class, with highly trained coaches and age-appropriate progressions designed to help children move safely and successfully.
2
We Teach the Whole Child
At Skylark Sports, we care about more than physical skills. We encourage kindness, respect, resilience and confidence, while recognising that every child learns differently. Our goal is to create environments where children feel seen, supported and capable.
3
Progress over perfection
We believe mistakes are an important part of learning. By encouraging effort, persistence and a growth mindset, we help children develop the confidence to keep trying, keep learning and keep growing — both inside and outside the gym.
4
Fun With Purpose
Children are more likely to stay active for life when movement feels positive and enjoyable. We create experiences that are energetic, engaging and full of fun, while helping children build skills, confidence and a lifelong love of movement.
