CONFIDENCE THROUGH MOVEMENT
WE PRIORITISE SAFETY AND WELLBEING
CREATIVITY AND FUN WITH PURPOSE
PROGRESS MATTERS MORE THAN PERFECTION
WE GROW SKILLS AND GOOD HUMANS
Our Story
We teach your kids to cartwheel, roll, flip and fall — and we teach them to do it safely. Using gymnastics, tumbling, acrobatics and ninja training, our phenomenal coaches help kids build strength, coordination and confidence in a fun, challenging and safe environment.
Welcome to Skylark Sports! I’m Jaz, founder and director of a local gymnastics club that builds confidence through movement.
I’ve been involved in gymnastics since I was 7. I studied exercise science, then began a PhD researching what influences children’s physical activity. Halfway through, I realised my biggest impact wouldn’t be in academia — it would be on the floor, coaching kids to move well and love it. So I pressed pause on my PhD, followed the passion, and Skylark Sports was born.
Skylark has grown from a set-up, pack-up gym into a thriving multi-site club with over 50 passionate coaches and administrators. I’d love to invite you to join us for a free trial and see whether a Skylark program is right for your child.
Our Mission
At Skylark we teach confidence through movement
When kids learn to cartwheel, roll, climb, flip, balance and fall safely, they’re not just building physical skills — they’re learning how to trust their bodies. Movement gives them real feedback: “I can try again.” “I can get stronger.” “I can do hard things.” That experience becomes confidence they carry well beyond the gym.
We create an environment where challenge is normal, effort is celebrated, and progress is coached with care. Every session is designed to help kids feel capable, brave, and proud of themselves — one skill, one attempt, one win at a time.

OUR VALUES ARE IMPORTANT TO US AND TO YOU
Our Values
1
Promote safety and wellbeing
We prioritise the long term health and well-being of the children we interact with. Safety is our first point of call in every class and our coaches are highly trained in this area.
2
Be a good human
We learn. We play. We do our best to be good humans and take care of the world we live in. We say please and thank you and encourage children to do the same. We recognise the genius in all children and we strive to teach the way they learn.
3
Strive for progress, not perfection
At Skylark Sports we believe that having and teaching a growth mindset encourages learning and effort. We work towards a culture that supports this growth mindset for both our team and the kids who attend our clubs. We know that mistakes are worth making so we look for opportunities to learn everyday.
Ultimately, we want all our students to develop a love of learning that stays with them for life.
Dr Carol Dweck is the primary researcher in this field and we would encourage all parents and educators to learn about her work.
4
Create fun and wonder
Life should be fun, so we create fun experiences for ourselves and those around us! We create fun in both the little and big things, the planned and the unplanned.
When children develop a positive association with physical activity they are more likely to remain physically active into their teenage and adult years so we work hard to develop that association.
AT SKYLARK, WE ALL HAVE AND APPLY THESE VALUES
