What Benefits Can You Expect From Ninja Training at Skylark

At Skylark Sports, our ninja training classes are a super fun, fundamental movement-focused program that provides children with the opportunity to develop a love of movement while improving their strength, core stability, fitness and fundamental movement skills like running, jumping and landing, swinging, climbing, rolling, balancing and more.

Ninja is perfect for kids with lots of energy who are looking to boost their coordination, strength and athleticism.

Here’s how our ninja classes are structured:

- Fast paced, fun warm-up games and activities

- Ninja bar work – focus on swinging, climbing and strength development

- Parkour – moving from A to B in the most efficient way possible. We teach kids to move over obstacles and land safely

Ninja swords – learn the basics of sword fighting with a focus on respect, control and character development

- Trampoline – on alternate weeks ninjas take to the tumble track to learn jumps, turns, flips and tricks

- Ninja challenge – each class ends with a ninja challenge designed to help ninjas explore their limits

At Skylark Sports we believe that every child should be given the opportunity to participate in gymnastics. It is a foundation sport that provides children with a great base for future physical pursuits, as well as developing brain connections that are essential for academic development.

Our ninja program essentially hides gymnastics skills in a super fun, fast paced program that kids love. The focus isn’t on perfecting gymnastics skills, but on getting the same benefits in a different way.

Have Questions About Ninja Ninja Training Classes at Skylark Sports?

I don’t want to pay by direct debit. Is there another option?

Your card or bank account on file acts as a guarantee of payment.

You are welcome to pay your account prior to the processing date each month via the Customer Portal, in person by cash or via bank transfer. Any balance remaining on the processing date will be charged to your card on file.

If you prefer to make less frequent payments or pay a larger amount in one go to get ahead this can be done by any of the methods above. Your account will be in credit and each month as tuition is applied your credit will be used to offset the charges. Ask our customer service team for details.

Where can I find your club policies?

Our Participation Agreement contains all the information you need to know about your enrolment at Skylark Sports. We appreciate you taking the time to read and understand the information contained, and encourage you to refer back to it regularly. You can find our Participation Agreement and other policies here.

What if my child is reluctant to join in?

New environments can be daunting, even for children who are normally very confident. We know that the first few times your child comes to Skylark they may feel worried or nervous about joining in. Our coaches and shift supervisors will do everything they can to help them engage in the program and support them to join the class. For some children, this may take a few moments. For some children it may take several weeks before they feel comfortable enough to join in. Each child is an individual, and we want them to feel comfortable. We will work together with the caregiver to meet the child’s needs and help them find the confidence to give it a go.

Is there insurance coverage for my child?

An annual registration and insurance fee is paid on your behalf to register participants as members of Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics Victoria. This registration provides an assurance that you are participating with an affiliated club for which there are high standards of qualification and compliance.

Through this program all registered members are covered through Marsh Advantage Insurance for personal injury. You can view the policy documents and what is covered on the Marsh Advantage website. Should you need to make a claim, this must be lodged within 30 days of the injury. For insurance claims class the National Phone Number; 1300 306 383 or email gymnasticsaustralia@marchadvantage.com.

For help with the process or further information please contact our customer service team.

I’m running late to pick up my child. How can I get in touch?

Our phones are not always attended during class time so if you are running late and cannot get through, please do not worry. A staff member will wait with a child until they are collected. If you are more than ten minutes late, we will call you to make sure everything is ok.

Our phone number is 9544 8008.

What covid-safe protocols do you have in place?

We are actively following the directions of the Department of Health and Human Services (alongside our governing bodies Gymnastics Victoria and Gymnastics Australia) with regards to operational guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an indoor sporting venue, we are subject to rules, regulations, and limitations in how we operate. We all have a personal responsibility to stop the spread of illness and together we can play our part to keep the community safe. Guidelines are constantly changing and will be communicated to all members as required.

Please do not send participants if they are feeling unwell or if they have been advised to isolate themselves by the authorities.

In the event of a lockdown or forced closure, credits will be applied for any classes cancelled that have already been paid for and billing will be paused. Your place is held in the class until we can reopen, at which time billing will recommence. If you decide to end your enrolment, please email us so we can refund any tuition held in credit.

Our current COVID Safety Plan can be found on our Member Document’s page.

I’m interested in competitive classes. How do I get involved?

We run a competitive acrobatic gymnastics program at Mount Waverley. Please email admin@skylarksports.com.au and ask for your child to be assessed for the squad program. This lets us know that you are interested in the program and allows us to determine whether the squad program is the right place for your child. Enrolment in our squad program is by invitation only and is restricted at certain times of the year to ensure competition preparation is not disrupted.

Can I take pictures?

You are welcome to take photos of your child, but we ask that you respect the rights of other individuals and not capture other children in your photos or videos without explicit permission.

Social sharing: Use the hashtag #skylarksports when you post your photos on Facebook or Instagram for a chance to get them featured on Skylark socials.

Can I watch my child’s class?

Spectators are welcome at Skylark Sports, subject to current public health density limits. Spectators are not allowed to enter the gym space, except in parent participation classes.

Parents/guardians of children aged 5 years and over do not need to remain onsite during class. We will call you if there is a need to get in touch during class.

How do I end my enrolment?

If you no longer wish to be enrolled in your class, simply email admin@skylarksports.com.au requesting an end to your enrolment. Seven days notice is required to end your enrolment and cancel your direct debit. You are welcome to attend during the notice period. If you have paid in advance, any unused tuition can be refunded to you or held as credit for another family member to use.

Unused make-up tokens are forfeited when your enrolment ends.
